Skills Shortages
The Northern Territory's Department of Business andﾠEmployment uses the NT Occupation Shortage List as the basis for sponsorship for the Skilled - Regional Sponsored visa and as a reference for nominations under other regional visas such as the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) and the Regional Long Stay Temporary Entry Business visas.
Skilled - Regional Sponsored Visa
TheﾠDepartment of Business and Employment's Employment Sectionﾠhas released a publication called Workforce NT which provides detailed information about employment and the labour market in the NT. This report includes the NT Occupation Shortage List detailing occupations experiencing shortages, recruitment difficulties and skill gaps.
Skilled - Sponsored Visa
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship has approved a separate list from the Northern Territory Government for the purpose of Territory Nomination under this visa scheme. In exceptional circumstances occupations which are not listed may be considered for nomination from the Northern Territory Government.

Other
The Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) lists those occupations and specialisations identified by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) that are in short supply.
