Health
Health services are available throughout the Northern Territory.
Public hospitals are located in Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy. All hospitals offer general inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. The Royal Darwin and Alice Springs hospitals offer a wide range of specialist services. Both are teaching hospitals aligned with Flinders University in Adelaide through the NT Clinical School. You can also choose to receive treatment at the Darwin Private Hospital.
General Practitioners (GPs), dentists and specialists, as well as allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, optometrists and pharmacists are available in the major towns and regularly visit remote communities.
Royal Darwin Hospital is an accredited National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre, and is home to the Alan Walker Cancer Care Centre.
